Introducing Bathstone Garden Rooms Ltd:
Garden rooms can make perfect accommodation whether temporary of permanent, and if asked we can add toilets and showers together with kitchens or kitchenettes to make them completely independent of the main house.
On occasions we are asked to add a toilet and hand basin to an office or studio for added convenience, or a shower room to a gym or sauna.
In most cases buildings with toilets and showers will require Building Control approval.
The size of room required for a toilet, basin and shower starts at a minimum of 0.9m wide x 1.5m long.
Points to consider before installing these facilities are the location and distance from the main drains, and the ease of connecting to the mains water supply.
In general, the further from the house the harder it is to connect, and the more it adds to overall cost.
In some situations it may not be possible to connect to main drains with a conventional underground drain, but we can often use a macerating toilet which pumps all waste material through a smaller pipe to a point at which we can connect to the mains.
Wetrooms are a popular method of providing a shower, toilet and basin in a small area, and work very well once installed.
When installing showers and basins you will need additional electricity for hot water, which means in most cases larger armoured cable from the point of connection at the mains to the consumer unit in the garden room.
In general, the ease of adding a toilet or shower to a garden room is dependant of its position relative to mains services, but once done gives a new dimension and versatility to the room.
How to organise a site visit or view a show building:
To arrange a visit, or just talk through options and prices please give us a call at any time and we can discuss your plans in detail.
If you would then like to arrange a site visit we can arrange a day, from which we can design a building and provide a quote – all completely free and without obligation.
Because our buildings are bespoke, and we rarely build two the same, we do not have a show site, but many of our past clients are willing to show you their buildings.
We encourage visits to current builds when you can meet the guys who build them, see the quality of construction at different stages, and possible meet current clients.
It also helps to see how we respect our client’s gardens and do our best to keep the site as tidy as possible!
Starting price for this type of building:
Depending on size and location relative to main services, prices are likely to start from £30,000
Typical lead & on-site build times:
Our lead times when buying a garden room with toilet or shower vary, but are usually 4 – 6 weeks.
